Dedicated \u201cto my dear friend G. Romani,\u201d the palette pays tribute to Galileo Romani, born in Scansano in 1841, the son of the architect Alessandro. It shows images of landscapes and flags that seem to indicate Italy (the snow-capped Alps, St. Peter\u2019s Basilica, the Italian flag), France (a wide navigable river like the Seine or the Rhone and the French flag), and Liechtenstein, with the view of a castle at the top of a steep staircase and a red and blue flag).
