His characteristic severe physiognomy, captured by Pascucci with attentive realism, enabled his identification as the subject also of a portrait painted by Pietro Aldi in 1885, present in the Polo\u2019s collection from its earliest formation but until now indicated generically Portrait of a Gentleman.
